Now in its twelfth year, Remabi Park continues to build a name for itself as a recognised leader in the field of animal interpretation.
Our clients are many and varied and take us to the four corners of our state and beyond.
Our willingness to travel, our love of Australian wildlife and the abilitiy to deliver engaging shows have helped make us who we are today.
Not only is Remabi Park making a name for itself within South Austraia, but is fast becoming known on a national scale through its involvement in several threatened species management programs. Unlike some other instutituions, we pride ourselves at not receiving Government funding, nor indeed receiving any funding at all. However, our involvement in these programs is vitaly important and essential if we are serious in saving some of our beautiful creatures. We do this because it is both enjoyable and richly rewarding.
Please take the time to travel through our website and you will see that whatever your function, whoever the audience, we guarantee you a "genuine australian wildlife experience" not to be missed.

About Remabi Park
Remabi Park was officially established in 1996 by Scott and Sharon Butler. Located in the beautiful Adelaide Hills, Remabi Park specializes in keeping and breeding native Australian fauna and hold over 32 species (both native and exotic) of which approximately 30% are threatened with endangerment. Remabi Park now boasts one of the most comprehensive private collections of native fauna in South Australia.
At Remabi Park, we are involved with other institutions and like minded groups in establishing breeding programs for endangered species, including the Brush-tail Phascogale, Eastern Quoll and Eastern Barred Bandicoot as well as our general involvement with other threatened species.
These institutions include Adelaide Zoo; Pearcedale Conservation Park, Victoria; Brisbane Forest Park, Queensland; Zoological Parks and Gardens Board of Victoria; Calporan Station, South Australia.
Interest groups include Marsupial Society of Australia, Inc; Herpatology Group of South Australia; Aviculture Society of South Australia.
Sharon is also an active committee member with the Australasian Society of zookeeping.
About Us
Who are we? We are Scott and Sharon Butler, a husband and wife team who love native animals! Together with our three small children, we now have one of the most comprehensive private collections of native wildlife in South Australia. We are a small non government funded family owned business that does not receive any grants or other funding towards our activities or towards the several breeding programs on threatened species that we are involved in on a national basis.
Scott’s first interest with animals started when he was 6 and was given his first pair of Zebra Finches by his uncle. It was not long after that that the birds bred and he was hooked! His interests started to broaden and soon he moved on to other finches and quail and it was not until his late teens that his interest incorporated parrots. His fascination with birds was purely a hobby and he never gave it a second thought as to the direction that this might take him.
Sharon’s first interest with the animals did not happen until she met Scott! She grew up in the South West of England until she was 18 and had always had an interest with wildlife but never to the extent of being allowed to keep any! Even persuading her parents to allow her to ride horses proved to be difficult. She immigrated to Australia in February 1991 and it was not until she met Scott in 1993, did she realize and appreciate the diversity that is Australia’s flora and fauna. Until then, Sharon was the epitome of many a visitor to this great land of ours by only knowing the koala, emu, kangaroo and wombat. This changed almost overnight! (You will be amazed to learn that not many international visitors know what a wombat is!).
Soon, it became evident that our pooled resources and interest in native fauna could develop into something more. Very quickly we started to pursue other avenues which led to us getting involved with not only birds, but marsupials as well. This, in turn, eventually led us to reptiles.
Through our involvement with Healesville Sanctuary in Victoria, we are now an integral part of the breeding program of the endangered Brush tail Phascogale – a little known carnivorous marsupial – and have successfully bred these delightful creatures here at the park for several years now. These animals were once abundant throughout the Adelaide Hills but have unfortunately fallen foul to feral animals and habitat loss and are now extinct to this state. This is just a small, yet important, role that we play here at Remabi Park.
About Our Presentations
Remabi Park is not open to the public. Instead, we take our animals out into the community. At Remabi Park, we try out best to deliver to you a unique experience whether it be in your lounge, classroom, community hall etc. This not only saves you time but money as well. Coaches, entrance fees, spending money – it all adds up! You will get as much fun and excitement from a visit from us – and you get to touch all the animals!
All of our shows last for approximately 1 hour, depending on the audience on the day. All animals used are native Australian. We do not use farmyard animals, puppies or kittens etc.
We try to make each show as fun and hands-on as possible. The animals are shown one at a time, in a fully supervised environment by one of our competent demonstrators. At the beginning and end of eachshow, we reinforce the importance of the washing of hands actively encourage all venues to ensure children have access to hand-washing facilities.
During the shows, volunteers are sought from the audience to help participate in getting the animals out and at no time are any participants forced to do anything they don’t want to do. We do our best to encourage as much interaction as possible ensuring a non-threatening approach.
For each show we find that 5-6 animals are enough to get through, especially when the snakes are involved! By rule, the pythons are the last animals to be used as they becoming a prized possession once around necks and are often difficult to retrieve as everyone wants to have a go!! We also use this time to calm down excited children or to prepare teachers for the wind-up and to talk to the participants a little about snake awareness and safety. By doing this we remind all participants that whilst these snakes are pets, that at no time must anyone touch, throw stones or do anything to a wild snake, should they come into contact with one whilst out walking, in their back yard etc.
We live in a country with some of the most deadliest snakes in the world and do not take lightly the importance of observation and respect for all snakes. Whilst we don’t intend to instill fear into our audience by using the snakes last, we are able to remind everyone that should they come across a snake in the wild, leave it alone, walk the other way, or let it pass. NEVER throw stones, poke them with sticks or even touch a snake that you may think is dead. Even a dying snake can be dangerous. This may seem a little severe to be talking about at a birthday party for instance, but a little common sense from a stranger can sometimes stay in their minds longer than hearing the same messages from parents or teachers! I am sure we can all relate to that!

Community/School Groups
This category includes schools, child care centres, kindergartens, vacation care programs, girl guide and scout units, nursing homes, libraries.
All of our shows last for approximately 1 hour. All animals used are native Australian. We do not use farmyard animals, puppies or kittens etc.
Each show is 100% fun and hands-on!. The animals are shown one at a time, in a fully supervised environment by one of our competent demonstrators. At the beginning and end of each presentation, we reinforce the importance of the washing of hands and we actively encourage all venues to ensure children have access to hand-washing facilities
We prefer no more than 35 participants per show time. If your centre, for example, has approximately 50 participants, then we would suggest we split this into two groups. This does not in any way increase the cost, rather, it enhances the quality experience for all involved.
In relation to schools, if there is a particular curriculum topic that you are following and would like us to enhance on that topic, then please tell us and together we will work out which direction to tailor the show to relate it to that topic. Topics that we have covered in the past include classification, flying Australians, carnivores etc.
Corporate Shows/Displays
This category is tailored more specifically to corporate functions, which could include shopping centres, meet and greets, registrations for conference, ceremonies, trade shows etc. This is particularly popular if your clients/guests are from overseas!
Every year we are asked to attend all manner of events that require a slightly different approach to that of our birthdays, schools etc. Whilst we still deliver the animals to the public in a fully supervised manner, we allow the animals to speak for themselves, and the snakes and crocodiles are usually the biggest draw-card!
The animals are always presented in the most excellent of health, and all presenters wear the Remabi Park uniform so people can easily recognise us.
We apply a two tier charge to corporate functions. During business hours, 8.30am – 5.00pm and outside business hours, prior to 8.30am and after 5.00pm.
If you have an idea for your forthcoming function, then tell us about it and we can tailor a display to meet your requirements.
